About Us

The Stewart family has been resident at Clash Farm for over a hundred years and is now home to Caron and Robert Stewart.  Robert has lived and worked on the farm all his life and Caron moved to Port Logan in 2000.

Our love of pigs was sparked when we adopted a Large White cross Welsh pig, unsurprisingly named 'Babe'.

Babe was rehomed from Mossburn Animal Sanctuary in the wake of Foot and Mouth, as they were having difficulties keeping her in, and they didn't want her to have to be put down due to the resulting strict movement restrictions.

She became quite a renowned inhabitant of Port Logan and lived happily at Clash Farm for several years until she died of old age at the end of 2007.

The Saddlebacks

In 2005 Caron surprised Robert by giving him two British Saddleback gilts for his birthday.  They were named Porsche and Mercedes, due to their 'go faster' stripes, and set a precedent for the naming of subsequent pigs. They have now been joined by boars McLaren and Jensen, and sows Lamborghini, Maserati, Lexus, Lotus, Morgan, Lancia, Maybach & Marlin and we are still expanding.

The rest, as they say, is history and the Clash Herd continues to grow.
